After a three year wait we are pleased to announce two new release wines under the Parawa Estate stable. These are released under our second tier Premier Reserve range; the Comte de Fleurieu (cabernets) and Garden of Josephine Syrah. Both are from the 2010 vintage which has proven to be an excellent vintage for both wines. Parawa only releases wines in excellent or exceptional vintage years. Only four reds have been released in 16 years.

These two wines pay homage to Charles Pierre Claret Fleurieu who was the benefactor for the French explorer Baudin, who in turn named the region where our wines are grown and is now known as Southern Fleurieu. Both wines were dry grown and hand-picked with aging being in French oak hogsheads for 30 months; 30% new and 70% seasoned. Given the identical vintage and procedural conditions it makes for an interesting varietal and style comparison between the two wines. Further information for the wines is displayed on the back labels of the bottles involved.

It is very pleasing to see the wide acclaim that the wines have achieved in a short space of time since their release in 2016 and only recent showing to important critics.

These include:

Jacques Lurton of the famous Lurton Bordeaux family who gave the Parawa Comte de Fleurieu 2010 a perfect score in a blind judging of First Growth Cabernets.
